For several months, Côte d'Ivoire has suffered an unprecedented post-electoral crisis, which has left our country in a climate of division and fear between the different social, ethnic and religious communities that are yet to live together.
Today, Côte d'Ivoire is reviving ! In order to contribute to the definite return of peace, UNIWAX, which has been a corporate citizen and a flagship of the Ivorian industry for over 40 years, confirms its corporate responsibility by promoting the values of peace and unity that have founded the Ivorian nation.
The UNIWAX African fabric has always been a unifying element, used in everyday life by the different communities, in difficult times as well as in times of celebration. Thus, the Ministry of Family, Women and Children has supported UNIWAX's project to produce the “Pagne de la Paix”.
This fabric, which is the African fabric of a united and tolerant multicultural nation, is intended, and above all, to be the symbol of peace and reconciliation in Côte d'Ivoire.
To further demonstrate its community sharing values, UNIWAX will donate a portion of the profits from its sales to a fund for assisting women who are victims of violence and children who are victims of abuse. Into this fund which will be managed by the Ministry of Family, Women and Children, the company will therefore pay up to two hundred CFA francs from each type of product sold composing this unique collection.
The peace collection consists of three patterns, designed on two types of materials : WAX and FANCY, enabling thus every Ivorian, regardless of their social condition, to purchase this event fabric.
The Peace African fabrics will be available as from Monday, October 31st, 2011 at Woodin Plateau and 2 Plateaux stores as well as at all UNIWAX resellers throughout the country.
Once again, UNIWAX is committed to the construction of a united and hard-working Côte d'Ivoire.
